About Us
At First Baptist Church Apache Junction, we believe church is more than a Sunday service—it’s a family. Rooted in God’s Word and the love of Jesus Christ, we are a community of people from all walks of life who come together to worship, grow, and serve. Our desire is to love God, love others, and share the hope of the gospel with our neighbors and the world.
Whether through focused worship and praise, Bible-centered teaching, fellowship together, or ministry to our community, we strive to create an environment where we can point one another to Jesus and encourage each other to trust and follow Him.
No matter where you are on your faith journey, you are welcome at First Baptist Church. Families, singles, children, and seniors all have a place here, and we invite you to join us in discovering what it means to follow Jesus together. We’d love to meet you, encourage you, and walk alongside you as we seek to live out our faith in everyday life.

What We Believe
We believe that the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is the record of God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth without any mixture of error for its matter. There is one and only one living and true God. Christ is the eternal son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.
Jesus perfectly revealed and did the will of God, taking upon Himself the demands and necessities of human nature and identifying Himself completely with mankind yet without sin. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of God. Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. All true believers endure to the end.
Those whom God has accepted in Christ, and sanctified by His Spirit, will never fall away from the state of grace, but shall persevere to the end. God, in his own time and in His own way will bring the world to its appropriate end. According to His promise, Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly in glory to the earth; the dead will be raised; and Christ will judge all men in righteousness. The unrighteous will be consigned to Hell, the place of everlasting punishment. The righteous in their resurrected and glorified bodies will receive their reward and will dwell forever in Heaven with the Lord.
Frequent Questions
What Should I Wear?
FBCAJ is a place to come as you are. On any given Sunday you will see worshipers in jeans, shorts, and t-shirts as well as dress shirts, slacks, and dresses. There is no dress code, we encourage you to come in whatever outfit in which you will be comfortable worshipping the Lord.
What Kind of Music Do You Have?
During our services we sing a mixture of older and modern hymns along with various praise choruses, typically accompanied by a piano and acoustic guitar. We do have hymnals in the pew and refer to them when singing older hymns, but the words to each song we sing together is always put up on screens for all to see and sing along with.
What Translation of the Bible Do You Use?
Our pastor generally uses the English Standard Version (ESV), but as a church we are not committed to a specific English translation of the Bible and our pastor and church members will regularly refer to other various translations. We are NOT what would be referred to as a “fundamentalist” Baptist church nor are we a “King James Only” church.
What do you have for children on Sunday?
On Sunday morning we have children’s Sunday School class at 9:45 AM. During the worship service we do not presently offer separate child or nursery care. We do have a Kid’s Table with several items that kids can take and engage with during the service such as coloring pages and worksheets relevant to that week’s sermon, small white boards and white board markers, a children’s library full of books, and many other fun items. Our pastor also does a special interactive message time with our children during the middle of the service in which he invites all the children to come down to the front row with him. We believe that children are a crucial part of the body of Christ and we want kids to know that church is just as much for them as it is for adults.
How long are your Sunday Worship Services?
Typically, our services last for about 1 hour. On the first Sunday of each month, we take Communion together as a church family at the end of the service. As a result, our services on the first Sunday of the month tend to be about 10-12 minutes longer.
